As a senior adviser of the Vietnam Independent Directors Association (VINDA), I am delighted to share this new report on independent directors in Vietnam, a collaboration between FinGroup and VINDA.  The report is based on a survey which has three major objectives:

  1. Assess the independent directors compliance rate in public companies;
  2. Explore issues that limit the role and function of independent directors in public companies; and
  3. Provide implications and recommendations to the relevant Government agencies on possible regulatory improvements to enhance the role of independent directors for better corporate governance in public companies.

I  look forward to my coming trip to Hanoi starting this weekend to exchange views and learn more about corporate governance developments in Vietnam.
