I am happy to share this podcast which includes an interview with me conducted by Irwin Luo. Although Hyflux provides the central context for the interview, the interview questions that Irwin posed were more wide-ranging and we talked about governance-related issues that apply to companies more generally, and the interplay between governance and other factors.
Irwin approached me a few months ago with the idea of creating podcasts from companies I have written about, in case studies or commentaries. He had been an educator in the Chartered Accountant Singapore program and taught the Business Governance, Value and Risk module. I did not know Irwin but was intrigued with his idea and decided to go ahead – my condition was that this should be made publicly available free of charge for the benefit of anyone who is interested.
I prefer such interviews to be spontaneous. So I did not write any script to answer the questions that Irwin had sent to me. I was happy to take follow up questions from points that emerged from the discussion. They reflect my personal views and I may not necessarily be right.
