GIFT 2021 Is Coming…..

We are pleased to announce that the fifth edition of the Governance Index for Trusts (GIFT) will be released on 11 November 2021. Look out for the latest ranking and report on 45 REITs, business trusts and stapled trusts listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX). GIFT is supported by SGX.

There is a new high score in GIFT 2021 and a new low score. In addition to the scores and ranking, we will share trends in the different areas of governance and business risk covered in GIFT, our review of the sector over the past year, our wish list of better practices and reforms, and our watch list of certain trusts facing challenges and emerging sector risks.

We hope investors, trusts, regulators and other stakeholders will find the report useful. With recent issues involving certain trusts listed here that have been widely reported in the local and international media, building TRUST in the sector is more important than ever.

This is a personal website of Mak Yuen Teen intended to convey his personal views on current developments in corporate governance and to share thought leadership publications. He sees himself as a corporate governance advocate, taking an independent and objective view of corporate governance situations with the goal of improving corporate governance for the public interest. Yuen Teen has been involved in many key corporate governance developments in Singapore and the region.
