I am starting a few ESG projects which involve a deep dive into certain aspects of ESG, and looking for 2 to 4 senior Singapore undergraduate students to work with me on these projects.

The projects will be self-funded by me and students will be paid at rates commensurate with university student assistant rates. These projects are expected to result in thought leadership reports and resources for director professional development programmes. It is possible that reports from the research will eventually be published in partnership with external organisations working in the ESG area. Students who have contributed to the projects will be duly recognised in the reports. They must not be working with other organisations on CG or ESG projects while they are working with me – or have entered into commitments to work with other organisations on such projects.

The work is expected to start from mid December and run for about a month. Those interested should be able to spend at least 20 hours per week on the project. They should have some prior exposure to CG and/or ESG and familiar with reviewing annual reports and/or sustainability reports. I will be personally supervising the projects so students will work under my close  guidance. They will be able to work from home with the occasional zoom meeting for briefings and updates, and the possibility of 1-2 face-to-face meetings.

Interested students can write to me at bizmakyt16@gmail.com by 10 December 2022 with a copy of their cv, and a brief statement of their prior experience in CG/ESG and experience reviewing annual reports and/or sustainability reports. Students from any of the Singapore universities can apply – but students who are enrolled in the BBA (Acc) program at NUS and who have not completed the Corporate Governance and Risk Management course which I teach are not eligible to apply. I will make my decision around mid-December.

Thank you.
